Diaper Savings at CVS

As you probably know, CVS has Pampers on sale this week for $8.97, plus get 3 extracare bucks (ECB) with purchase. On a recent visit, I got a CVS coupon for $2 off any $10 purchase on baby products (excluding formula, but including diapers), so I picked up some baby ear swabs for $1.57 to combine with my package of Pampers. I combined that with a $2 coupon off Pampers cruisers and 3 ECB I had from a previous shopping trip (great candy deals this week with ECB for Easter, plus Colgate free after ECB, with which you can use a coupon) for a grand total of $4.24 for the diapers plus swabs. I plan to go back tomorrow to get another package of $4 Pampers.
Rumor has it that next week, Huggies will be on sale 2/$17.98, plus get 5 ECB when you buy 2. I got a CVS coupon printout recently that gave me $4 off any Huggies diapers plus wipes purchase (expires Sunday), plus have 50 cents off Huggies wipes and two $2 off Huggies diapers from last week's newspaper (if the right kinds are on sale; otherwise, $1.50 off). Combined with the $3 ECB I should have available at the end of this week, if I go on Sunday, I should be able to get 2 packs of diapers plus wipes for $9, with 5 ECB back. If I can get my printer working and print two of those $3 off Huggies online coupons that everyone's talking about, I can get them for just $7!

First Entry - Grocery Savings

Well, my husband is sick of me bragging about my grocery savings, so I thought I'd share my trip to CVS and Safeway today. For just under $30, I got: 4 packages of size 4 Huggies & Pampers diapers (including one overnight, always in demand in our household), 6 bananas, 3 boxes of Poptarts, 5 boxes of Valentine SweetTarts, 1 Softsoap body wash, 1 bag of cough drops, 1/2 gallon of organic whole milk (for the 1-y-o), and 5 2-L gallons of diet soda. Sure, maybe it's not a ton, but it's a bunch of extras that would have cost twice as much, and I didn't need much this week for groceries besides bananas and milk for the little guy's breakfast. I did this with a combination of Safeway coupons (from Sunday's insert), manufacturer's coupons, and CVS extra bucks (plus got 4 more for later this week).
